Second Taster Session

The lovely sunny evening welcomed the Scouts from Papworth to the Village green where we were inundated with a brilliant turnout of 24 Scouts!

This evening saw the young people working on their Survival Skills badge; turning nice crystal clear water into nasty muddy water, then using some fabric, pebbles sand and charcoal attempting to turn it back into nice clean water. Sadly the water didn’t make it quite back to how it began but then again it was safe to drink, if a little bad tasting!

Scouts also had a go at how to use knives safely so that they could sharpen some sticks as well as putting their fire lighting skills to the test on some specially collected tumble dryer fluff. All were successful so now we move on to how to turn that small flame into a warming camp fire for those chilly evenings on camp.IMG_6659
